The Spencer Academies Trust was established shortly after George Spencer Academy became one of the first outstanding schools to convert to academy status in August 2010. George Spencer Academy is the lead school of 10 schools (3 secondary, 7 primary) in the Trust. Building on our successful track record of providing high quality teaching and learning and securing outcomes for children and young people, our mission statement for the Trust reflects our vision and aim for all our schools:

“To improve the life chances of children and young people by challenging and supporting all schools within the Trust on their journey to and beyond outstanding”.

Our highly-successful network of 10 schools (3 Secondary and 7 Primary) educates students across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Nottingham City, Derby City and Leicestershire. Fraser Mitchell is the secondary education lead and Angela O’ Brien leads primary education. Both are National Leaders of Education.
